Binghamton is a city located in the southern tier of upstate New York in the United States. It is the county seat of Broome County. The population of the city of Binghamton, according to the 2000 Census is 47,380. The city of Binghamton is nestled in the Southern Tier of New York, at the confluence of the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers. Greater Binghamton is also home to Binghamton University. The Art Mission, Limited is a not for profit community art center, featuring a gallery space, classrooms and art supply store, located in the heart of Binghamton's historic district in a building which once housed the city rescue mission.
