New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York, the state is often regionalized into upstate and downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.

Lee is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States of America. The town of Lee is northwest of Rome, New York. It was formed from the town of western in 1811. The population of Lee in 1920 was 1,143 and it has a total area of 118.0 square kilometers out of which 117.0 square kilometers is land and 1.0 square kilometers of it is water, according to the census bureau.
 
According to 2000 census, there were 6,875 people, 2,563 households and 1,970 families residing in the town. The population density was 58.8 per square kilometers and there were 2,699 housing units at an average density of 23.1 per square kilometers. The racial makeup of Lee was 97.41 percent white, 0.86 percent African American, 0.19 percent Native American, 0.47 percent Asian, 0.01 percent Pacific Islander, 0.22 percent from other races and 0.84 percent from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 0.80 percent of the population.
 
In this town the population was spread out with 26.7 percent under the age of 18, 6.6 percent from 18 to 24, 28.1 percent from 25 to 44, 25.4 percent from 45 to 64 and 13.2 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 99.7 males and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 97.6 males. There are different communities and locations in Lee such as Brookfield, Hawkins Corner, Stokes Corner, West Branch, West Lee etc are the various hamlets of the town Lee while Elmer Hill and Point Rock are the locations
