La Grange (T)




New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York City, the state is often regionalized into Upstate and Downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.
 
LaGrange is a town in Dutchess County, New York, USA. The population was 14,928 at the 2000 census and 16,089 . The town was named after the ancestral estate of the Marquis de Lafayette.
 
The town was originally established in 1821 as freedom from parts of the towns of Beekman and Fishkill, but confusion with another location caused the name to be changed to LaGrange in 1828. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 103.2 square kilometers. 102.8 square kilometers of it is land and 0.4 square kilometers of it is water.
 
In the town the population was spread out with 28.5 percent under the age of 18, 5.9 percent from 18 to 24, 29.9 percent from 25 to 44, 25.3 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.4 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 97.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.0 males.

It can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
