Monroe is a town in Orange County, New York, United States. The town is named after President James Monroe. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 55.1 square kilometers. The town is located in the Southern region of the county, bordered on the northwest by the town of Chester, on the north by the town of Blooming Grove, on the east by the town of Woodbury, on the south by the town of Tuxedo, and on the southwest by the town of Warwick.
