New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York City, the state is often regionalized into Upstate and Downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.

Queensbury is a town in Warren County, New York, USA. It is part of the Glens Falls, New York Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the town was 25,441 at the 2000 census. The town is named in honor of Queen Charlotte, the consort of George III of Great Britain and Ireland. The town of Queensbury is one of the oldest in the county. Queensbury is located in the southwestern part of the county, north of the city of Glens Falls, which it borders. As of the 2005 U.S. Census estimate the population of the town was 27,137.
 
Major efforts at settlement began with the Queensbury Patent in 1762, which enticed Quaker settlers to move into the area, the Township of Queensbury, the next year in 1902, the then largest village within Queensbury, Glens Falls, incorporated as a city and became a separate municipality. Today Queensbury is the largest suburb of Glens Falls and now surpasses the city in population.
 
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 167.9 square kilometers, out of which 163.2 square kilometers of its area is covered by land and 4.7 square kilometers is occupied by water. The south town line is the border of Saratoga County, New York, and the east town line is the border of Washington County, New York.
 
In the town the population was spread out with 25.3 percent under the age of 18, 6.1 percent from 18 to 24, 28.3 percent from 25 to 44, 25.1 percent from 45 to 64, and 15.2 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.4 males.
 
Some of the locations in Queensbury are French Mountain, Glen Lake, Lake Sunnyside, Oneida Corners, Harrisena, Queensbury, Paradise Beach, and West Glens Falls. Queensbury, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place.
