New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York City, the state is often regionalized into Upstate and Downstate. Schodack is a town in Rensselaer County, New York, USA. The population was 12,536 in 2000 census. The town of Schodack is in the southwestern part of the county. Schodack is southeast of Albany, New York. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 164.9 square kilometers.
In the town the population was spread out with 26.0 percent under the age of 18, 5.9 percent from 18 to 24, 29.2 percent from 25 to 44, 25.9 percent from 45 to 64, and 13.0 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 96.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males.
