Shelby, New York is a town in Orleans County, New York, USA. The population was 5,420 in 2000. The town of Shelby is located in southwest corner of Orleans County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 121.0 square kilometers.
Like some of its sister municipalities and towns, Shelby is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in New York.
