New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York City, the state is often regionalized into Upstate and Downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.
 
Sleepy Hollow is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. As of the 2000 census, the village had population of 9,212. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 13.2 square kilometers. In the village the population was spread out with 25.0 percent under the age of 18, 8.9 percent from 18 to 24, 36.7 percent from 25 to 44, 18.9 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.5 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.9 males.
 
Like some of its sister villages, Sleepy Hollow is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in New York.
