Tarrytown is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 11,090 at the 2000 census. The village of Tarrytown is located in the northwest part of the Town of Greenburgh, New York. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 14.7 square kilometers.
 
In the village the population was spread out with 19.7 percent under the age of 18, 8.6 percent from 18 to 24, 34.8 percent from 25 to 44, 22.5 percent from 45 to 64, and 14.4 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 82.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77.8 males.
