New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York City; the state is often regionalized into Upstate and Downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.
 
Warwick is a municipality in Orange County, New York, United States. In 2000, the population of the city was 30,764 and an area of 271.6 square kilometers. The town of Warwick is located in the southwest part of the county. The town contains a village also named Warwick. The region has been referred to as Warwick since the early 18th Century. The town of Warwick was created in 1788.  
 
In the town the population was spread out with 27.2 percent under the age of 18, 5.6 percent from 18 to 24, 31.3 percent from 25 to 44, 24.6 percent from 45 to 64, and 11.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 100.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.2 males.
