New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York city. The state is often regionalized into upstate and downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.

Webster is a town in Monroe County, New York in United States. The population was 37,926 at the 2000 census. The town was named after orator and statesman Daniel Webster and is located in the northeast corner of the county. There is also a village named Webster in the town. The town has a total area of 91.9 square kilometers of which 88.2 square kilometers is land and 3.8 square kilometers is water. The north town line is marked by lake Ontario and the east town line is the border of Wayne County, New York. Irondequoit Bay is on the west side of the town.
 
There were 14,750 households out of which 34.6 percent had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.5 percent were married couples living together, 8.1 percent had a female householder with no husband present and 27.6 percent were non families. 23.1 percent of all households were made up of individuals and 9.0 percent had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.04. Webster is the fastest growing suburb of Rochester New York. The communities and locations in this town are Forest lawn which is a neighborhood in the northwest part of the town and west Webster, a crossroads in the western part of the town.
