New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York, the state is often regionalized into upstate and downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.

Liberty is a town in Sullivan county, New York, United States. The population was 9,632 at the 2000 census. The town of Liberty contains a village of Liberty. The village is located by New York route 17. It was created from the town of Lumberland in 1807 and became the fourth town in the county. Afterwards the town changed its dimensions by the removal of other towns and the addition of part of another. According to the census bureau the town has a total area of 209.0 square kilometers out of which 206.2 square kilometers is land and 2.8 square kilometers of it is water.
 
According to 2000 census, The population density was 46.7 per square kilometers where there were 5,350 housing units at an average density of 25.9 per square kilometers. In the town the population was spread out with 24.7 percent under the age of 18, 7.6 percent from 18 to 24, 27.4 percent from 25 to 44, 23.5 percent from 45 to 64 and 16.8 percent who were 65 years of age or older. Ferndale, Grossinger a hamlet south of Liberty village on route 17. Loomis, a hamlet west of Liberty village. Parksville, a hamlet north of Liberty village on route 17. Revonah Lake, a lake north west of Liberty village that was probably the first settlement site in the town. Swan Lake, a hamlet near the south town line, located at the eastern end of a lake called Swan Lake. White Sulphur Springs, a hamlet in the southwest part of the town on route 52.

This place is regarded as a premier vacation destination and rated as top vacation spots in New York, hence it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over.
