New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York City, the state is often regionalized into Upstate and Downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.

Cobleskill, New York refers to two different locations in Schoharie County, New York. Cobleskill is a village in Schoharie County, New York, USA. The population of the town was 4,533 at the 2000 census. The name of the village has several conflicting explanations. The village of Cobleskill is in the town of Cobleskill.
 
The village was settled in 1752, and was incorporated in 1868. The annual Sunshine Fair is the village's largest event drawing thousands of people to demolition derbys, tractor pulls, and pony rides. A Dutch Grist miller named Jacob Cobus built a mill on the Creek. The Dutch word for river or creek is Kill, thus the name Cobleskill, for Cobel's creek.
 
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 8.5 square kilometers, with none of the area covered with water. The Valley Cobleskill resides on the boundary of the geologic regions of New York known as the Catskill plateau to the south and the Escarpment region of the Mohawk Valley to the North.
 
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,533 people, 1,537 households, and 754 families residing in the village. The population density of the town was 535.2 per square kilometers. There were 1,706 housing units at an average density of 201.4 per square kilometers.
 
There were 1,537 households out of which 23.6 percent had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.7 percent were married couples living together, 10.0 percent had a female householder with no husband present, and 50.9 percent were non-families. 41.8 percent of all households were made up of individuals and 20.6 percent had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.07 and the average family size was 2.85.

Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and pursue enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Cobleskill, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place.
