New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Crawford is a town in Orange County, New York, USA. The population of the town was 7,875 as of  the 2000 census. The hamlet of Pine Bush is in the town's  northwest corner. Its population was 9,251 as of the 2005 U.S. Census estimate. The north town line is the border of Ulster County, New York. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 104.0 square kilometers, out of which 103.9 square kilometers  of its area is covered by land and 0.1 square kilometers is covered by water.
 
In the town the population was spread out with 30.3 percent under the age of 18, 6.1 percent from 18 to 24, 30.2 percent from 25 to 44, 24.1 percent from 45 to 64, and 9.2 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 98.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
