New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York City, the state is often regionalized into Upstate and Downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States. Rosendale is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 6,352 at the 2000 census and 6,364 in 2005 U.S. census. The Town of Rosendale once had an incorporated village with the same name, until voters dissolved the incorporation. The town is centrally located in the county.
 
The region was first settled around 1685. The Town of Rosendale was formed in 1844 from parts of the Towns of Hurley, Marbletown, and New Paltz. The Town is located in the County of Ulster, New York, which County is divided for local government purposes into twenty towns and the City of Kingston. In turn, some of such Towns contain incorporated villages established for purposes of providing certain municipal services and facilities to their residents. The town is a political subdivision of the state having its own elected legislative body, the town Board and pursuant to Constitutional provisions.
 
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 53.7 square kilometers. 51.6 square kilometers of it is land and 2.1 square kilometers of it is water. The New York State Thruway passes through the town. Rondout Creek joins the Wallkill River by the east town line. In the town the population was spread out with 24.6 percent under the age of 18, 6.8 percent from 18 to 24, 31.9 percent from 25 to 44, 25.3 percent from 45 to 64, and 11.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 97.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males. Communities and locations in Rosendale are Binnewater, Bloomington and many more.
 
Rosendale is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
