Scotia (V)
New York is a state in the northeastern United States. Majority of the population is concentrated in the southern portion around New York City, the state is often regionalized into Upstate and Downstate. New York is the home of Ellis Island, where many immigrants in the early 20th century arrived in the United States.
Scotia is a village in Schenectady County, New York, USA. The population was 7,958 in 2005 census. The village of Scotia is in south part of the Town of Glenville, partly contiguous with Schenectady, New York. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.6 square kilometers. In the village the population was spread out with 26.2 percent under the age of 18, 5.8 percent from 18 to 24, 29.8 percent from 25 to 44, 21.5 percent from 45 to 64, and 16.7 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 85.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77.6 males.
